Dimensions
The Main Hall is 11.70 metres wide. It is 12m long with the front part of the stage folded up, or 11m long when the front part of the stage is folded down to give a half-height platform.
Capacity
- Cinema-style the Hall will hold 150 people.
- For dining, the hall will hold about 100 in comfort.
Some events have more people in the hall, and they can be very enjoyable; but organisers should realise there is a trade-off between comfort, ease of movement and capacity.
For a large event, you would normally hire both halls, so the Small Hall could be used as a food service area, a bar, or a quiet room.
If you are planning an event with larger numbers, discuss it with the Booking Secretary and prepare a table plan and seating plan in advance. Make sure that your set-up team know EXACTLY what they must do. AND make sure that your clear-up team know where to put things back!

Tablecloths
A limited number of white banqueting tablecloths may be available, free-to-use, for the circular tables, but must be returned laundered.
Full sets of cloths are available for hire by contacting the Booking Secretary. These must also be returned laundered.
Ventilation There is a ventilation system; the switch for this is in the Hall, to the left of the door to the rear lobby. .
Kitchen
The Main Hall kitchen has recently (September 2024) been refurbished. It has a range cooker, a microwave, a hot water urn, a warming cabinet, a commercial dishwasher and a domestic fridge. It has crockery, cutlery and glassware to serve a meal to more than 100 people.
Users of the Main Hall kitchen may find it useful to hire the Committee Room (see below) as a preparation and temporary storage area. There is a special rate (see Hall Charges) if the Committee Room is hired at the same time as the Main Hall and Kitchen.
