Relaxation of restrictions on 7 August  

The Trustees welcome the relaxation of restrictions and hope this will enable more of our hirers to return. 

If you are considering booking the Hall please read the Important Information For Hirers 2021 (updated 3 October 2021).

You must run your event according to the government regulations in force at the time of the event and it is a legal requirement that you undertake a specific coronavirus risk assessment and take reasonable measures to minimise exposure to, and the spread of, coronavirus. A copy of our risk assessment will be sent to you on request. The regulations are on the gov.wales website under Coronavirus (COVID-19) guidance). You must also comply with any documents we send you or publish on our website

Lisvane Memorial Hall is run by a group of volunteer trustees. Whilst we will try to consider risk assessments sent in at short notice, please would you send your risk assessment to the booking secretary at least 2 weeks in advance of your desired hire date to give the trustees time to review it in advance of (hopefully) confirming the hire.

Lisvane Memorial Hall was built on land donated by Hugh Travell England in memory of his brother Richard Geoffrey England, who was killed in WW2. The land was donated “in order to build upon it a Memorial Hall”. The Hall is administered by Trustees "For the purposes of physical and mental training and recreation and social, moral and intellectual development through the medium of reading and recreation rooms, library, lectures, classes, recreations and entertainments or otherwise as maybe found expedient for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Parish of Lisvane without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions".

Lisvane Memorial Hall is a Registered Charity No 524175 run by a Board of Trustees and Regulated by the Charity Commission.

Lisvane Memorial Hall is independent of the Lisvane Community Council (which owns the Old School Community Centre) and the Lisvane Community Association.

Defibrillator and CCTV

CCTV has been installed at the front of the Hall. This is to provide security for the defibrillator which is located on the front wall of the Hall. CCTV Images will be retained for 14 days before being overwritten. For further information, please contact lmhtrusteesecretary@gmail.com


The Hall can be hired.

There are currently two rooms for hire. The Main Hall will hold 150 people cinema-style and about 100 in comfort for dining. The Small Hall will hold 50 people cinema-style or can offer a simple meal for about 32 people. (The Committee Room has capacity for about 12 people round a table but is currently unavailable during the Covid crisis.) For more details about the facilities of the individual rooms click here.

There is on-site parking for 37 cars including 3 disabled spaces.

The 74th Annual General Meeting of Lisvane Memorial Hall will be held on Sunday 24th October at 7.45pm in the Main Hall and on Zoom.

Regular hire groups will be advised of the Zoom access codes, but any member of the Parish of Lisvane who is 18 years or over is welcome to join. Access codes available from lmhtrusteesecretary@gmail.com

You could help the Hall by joining the “100 Club”.

The “100 Club” exists to contribute to funding for improvements to the Hall. Joining the 100 Club costs £10 per quarter and will give you the opportunity to win prizes £150, £100, and £50, every three months. There are currently vacancies available.
